Arvind Gaur, who heads the Delhi based, theatre group ASMITA, is committed to innovative and socially relevant theatre. Starting off as journalist and working for some time in the electronic media, he set-up ASMITA and has earned a reputation in theatre circles in Delhi and outside. His best works include Girish Karnad's Tughlaq & Rakt Kalyan, Dharamveer Bharati's Andha Yug Swadesh Deepak's Court Martial & Kaal Kothri, Dario Fo's Accidential Death of An Anarchist Ashok Lal's Ek Mamooli Adami, Bertolt Brecht's Kanpur Ki Aurat Bhali - Ramkali, Mahesh Dattani's Final Solutions & Tara, G.P. Deshpande's Antim Divas, Neil Simon's The Good Doctor (Log Baag), Samuel Backett's Waiting for Godot, Jan Otcenasek's Rameo Juliet & The Darkness, Bubbles Sabharwal's Women in Black Uday Prakash's Warren Hastings Ka Saand and Vijay Tendulkar's Ghasiram Kotwal. His plays have the distinction of being acclaimed amongst the best plays in Delhi of seven consecutive years - and achievement for any theatre group. He has conducted many workshops and directed productions in different colleges in Delhi such as LSR, I.P. College, Gargi College, J.N.U., I.I.T., Aditi College and School of Planning and Architecture. His association with the students of SPA has led to the inception of 2nd Foundation Theatre Society.
